WHO

Last week, we caught our favorite influencer, @CynthiaChavez, sharing news on her IG stories about a donation project called ‘United for Honduras’. Cynthia is beyond aspirational and uses her platform for good with daily positivity, we definitely recommend giving her a follow! This time, she helped to create an enormous ripple affect of awareness for the ‘United for Honduras’ donation event! She introduced the team here at pediped® to actress and totally motivating influencer, Suanny Serpas (@TheOnlySuanny, equally beautiful, inside & out!) Suanny connected us with the wholehearted, nonprofit, Proyecto Hope! Suanny and Proyecto Hope are the angels organizing the ‘United for Honduras’ donation event! They are giving their all to spread the word, gather donations, and connect for the greater good of the people in Honduras.

WHAT

The ‘United for Honduras’ project started as a plan to help those who have been affected by Hurricane Eta, but quickly grew into a bigger dream for Suanny and Proyecto Hope. The likes, comments, shares, and donations started pouring in and they soon realized it was time to THINK BIG, like a CONTAINER size of donations big! They were able to collect enough donations to pack 2 containers full of goods to ship to Honduras! We were so moved here at the pediped® headquarters, we knew we needed to help! Luckily, we were able to donate over 1000 pairs of shoes for kids! We shipped a loaded pallet full of kids shoes, ranging in age from 1-6+!

WHERE

Suanny and Proyecto Hope hosted two drive-thru donation events, one in Houston and the other in Los Angeles. Both cities really showed up for the events and we couldn’t be more grateful! Proyecto Hope is accepting monetary donations via Venmo to continue to help this dream grow! Their Venmo handle is @Proyecto-Hope, you can scan this QR code to be directed straight to donate!

WHY

Hurricane Eta and Hurricane Iota have affected more than 4.5 million lives across Central America. This has left people without access to clean water and in desperate need of shelter and protection. Flooding is widespread and deadly landslides have claimed the lives of families and children. The double blow comes on top of the Covid-19 pandemic, which had already depleted government resources and left many people unemployed. Your donations help strengthen community and preserve hope in desperate times. Donating to the causes you care about not only benefits them but is deeply rewarding for you, too.

As they say, it takes a village! We want to thank all of our customers for your continued support through such a tough year. You are the reason we are able to give back!
